......with a quilt pattern.
Gypsy Wife by Jen Kingwell
This is unusual for me. Generally, I don't like to follow patterns, but this one is so interesting and I could not figure out how it was made! So, I ordered it from Australia and tapped my foot for a couple of weeks, waiting for it to arrive.
I searched online to see what other folks were saying about it. Come to find out, there's alot of chatter going on about this quilt! So, I joined a group and here's what I've gotten done...
I am happy with the pinwheels, but this color wheel is just not going to fit in, I fear. I think I'll make another one and save this one for something else.
and in the TV room until the insurance adjuster comes to look at the rug, etc. in my workroom, it has been a great day watching TV with my DH and I don't have to feel guilty about spending too much time holed up in my sewing room :)
Afterword:
Here is the remade color square and I love it!
I love your squares my friend!! Has your sewing machine found a new home? You might decide that you like being out there close to your sweetie!! I have a few new quilt ideas to share with you! I think we need to quit our jobs and just sew! That quilt shop is looking more and more appealing!
ReplyDeletedefinitely more of a colour wheel now! it goes a lot better with your bright pinwheels. it sure is a fun pattern, isn't' it?!
ReplyDeletejust wanted to thank you for the kind words of support you left on my blog last week, with the Hugs and Kisses blog hop. No reply blogger so could not email directly.
ReplyDeleteI'm having the same problem with my colour wheel though I'm undecided about re-doing it just yet. I want to see how the rest of my blocks come out. I love your second one though!!
ReplyDeleteI saw that pattern sometime ago...thanks for reminding me I wanted to investigate it further...just love it!
ReplyDeletestunning colour wheel. I am just about to put my quilt all together and I am feeling quite a bit of trepidation! I am looking for inspiration and found it!
